Easter

All the grandkids with the grandparents!

Checking out their loot after the hunt.

All dressed up for Easter!

She was so proud!

We were able to go spend some time with my side of the family on Easter this year. It was a day with beautiful weather and it made for a nice drive. The kids enjoyed the time getting to see family, and of course didn't want to leave when it was time! They got to hunt for eggs outdoors with their cousins. We did an Easter egg hunt indoors at our house due to rain outside that Saturday. Bummer. The kids still got a kick out of finding the eggs inside, though! We also did some egg dying the Friday night before Easter. Always an adventure with that! Then, another highlight is always seeing that Easter basket when they wake up Easter morning! Oh, the small things!

Snow, Museum, and Dress Up

Here's some misc. pics I've taken of the kids. They got to spend some time out in the snowy backyard earlier this year. We wanted to make a snowman, but the snow was not ideal! Instead, we make a snow home! Kallie got a kick out of it! We also made our first trip to the MN Children's Museum. Not quite as big as Indy's, but it was still a neat experience. The other pics are from special days at daycare, Wacky Wednesday and St. Patrick's Day. They love wearing special things!

Liam's 2nd Birthday

Liam enjoyed celebrating his second birthday with extended family over his birthday weekend, February 13-14. We enjoyed having the houseful of family around to celebrate his second year of life. He seemed to enjoy being sung to! He was quite amusing opening his gifts because he would open one thing and then want to play with it right away and wouldn't care about the rest of his gifts. We eventually got through them all!

Holidays

Wow, once again too long since posting. Over the course of the past months, we have enjoyed celebrating Kallie's 5th birthday with family, Halloween with a visit from Grandma Mitchell, Thanksgiving in Milwaukee visiting the Mitchells, and a crazy, snowy Christmas with the Moore side. Our Milwaukee visit for Christmas had to be rescheduled due to the storm. We will see them in a couple weeks and enjoy a late Christmas. We also had visitors for New Years. My brother Stan and his fam came down and they also brought my sister's three girls with them, so it was fun to be able to have the company and enjoy being together. I've missed out on 6 years of my neices and nephews growing up, so I really have learned to appreciate the time I have with them now, and enjoy getting to know their personalities. We love family! Other than that, things have been pretty routine for us(I'm not complaining). I have started subbing more often and have enjoyed trying to get plugged into what will be Kallie's school next year. On Thursdays, if I'm not subbing, I have the opportunity to volunteer helping a couple of second graders with their reading fluency and writing. It's been a neat experience. It's a parent literacy program that helps children who are struggling to keep up with their peers get a little extra one-on-one help with reading and writing. Jim continues to be a busy guy with work. The kids are doing well. It has been so nice to listen to Liam do so much talking now. He's quite the entertaining character! Hard to believe he'll be two next month. Kallie is also becoming quite the little lady and enjoys making pictures for people and trying to write words. It's fun to see how far she's come this past year. We truly thank God for our two children, even if they are a handful at times :-) ! Hope you are all happy and healthy and the Mitchells hope 2010 will be a great one for you!

First day of swimming lessons this summer.

MN Zoo

Soil mess...:-(

Hello all! I am finally getting around to updating this thing. Things have been pretty good for the most part for us. I really enjoyed having the summer off with the kids and getting all settled in to the new house. We are absolutely loving the area we live in and are trying to get in all kinds of community activities! This summer we enjoyed going to the numerous parks, the Mall of America, the county fair, the MN state fair, the waterpark, the beach, and so on. The weather was absolutely wonderful for us this summer. I hope every summer continues to be like this one!
Updates on kids:

Kallie has really started to become a little lady now. Some of the things she says crack us up. So grown up sometimes. She really enjoys using that imagination of hers and is very content playing by herself with her Barbies, or Polly Pockets, or My Little Ponies. We also often played school this summer and I, of course, used that to my advantage and worked on her numbers, letters, and writing with her this summer. She caught on pretty quickly, which gives me hope!! She has one more year yet before starting kindergarten. Hard to believe she will be five next month. This summer we also did swimming lessons with her. I will definitely be continuing that. She also had a Little Sporties class where they introduced her to many different kinds of sports. We'll see what happens with that! Right now we are doing an intro to dance class. That goes through November, so we'll see if she continues to be as excited about it as she is now!
Liam is all boy...need I say more??!! He brings us so many smiles througout the day. Such a funny guy. He loves to climb on his sister, which she isn't always very fond of. So the sibling spats have definitely begun. The highlight for me right now is his development of his speech. He is saying so many words right now and repeating so many things..so fun! We continue to worry about him though. He is going to see a cardiologist next month per request of his doctor. He has had a heart murmur for about a year now, and when we lived in IN they did a heart echo and everything looked fine, so they didn't refer him to a cardiologist. This new dr. would like him to see one just to be on the safe side. She said it is a pretty light murmur, which is good, but she'd hate for anything to go undetected. I will keep you posted.

As for Jim and me, nothing too exciting. Jim has been very busy at work and is learning to handle a bigger store than he had before. I am in the process of waiting for sub jobs. The kids have started their new daycare and go just in case I should get called.

Last Fri, the 18th, my Grandma Moore passed away and went home to her eternal resting place. It has been hard, but I am so thankful that she is no longer suffering. She will be missed by all. Thankfully, I will see her again!

Hope all is well with all of you and that you are experiencing joy in your life. Much love.
