Here's some pics of the new house. I was blessed to have my mother and my aunt Sue come and paint some of the rooms of the house while I was still in IN and Jim was in the new house. They did a great job. Thankfully the colors turned out great. I had picked out some swatches after only seeing the house two times! I put my faith in my husband, mother, and aunt, and thankfully it all turned out well! They did great! During that time, my mother also did some unpacking and that helped out greatly also. Thanks mom! So when I finally showed up at the end of May, most of my house had been unpacked! Yippee! We are enjoying the home. Kallie seems to be adapting well to being on a floor separate from the rest of us...thank goodness. It is a tri-level home when a basement, so four levels in all. We get our exercise with the stairs! We city that we live in has a wide variety of parks so we have been enjoying checking those all out. There is a lot more to explore to the area, so we are looking forward to checking that all out! Stay tuned!

The Move

Enjoying a walk down our sidewalk on moving day.
Second attempt.

First attempted mode of transport....too small!

Check out the mess from the IN house..yuck!

Don't worry, we have NOT abandoned this site! I know it is a good outlet for some of you to see pics of the Mitchells. I just haven't been doing a very good job of putting this as a priority. But worry no longer! Let me try and recap the happenings....on April 16, we officially moved out of our Indiana home. It was a day filled with many emotions. It signified the end of one chapter of our lives. I find myself getting too attached to things, in particular, our IN home. It was basically the first home that Jim and I had together so it will always hold a special place in my heart. When the moving company showed up, they came in and looked at everything they were going to need to load up and did inventory. Sad thing is that they decided their first truck wasn't big enough, so they brought in a semi, as you can see in the pics! Yikes! Jim was a trooper and stuck around while I hauled the kids off and started moving into our temporary home close by. After the moving company had left, I returned to give the place one last good cleaning and said my goodbyes. We then moved into a home that was lent to us by a teacher I worked with...what a blessing. They had this home as well as an apartment, so she said we could just stay out at their house and use their stuff while they stayed at their apartment!! It made me really question whether or not I could do the same for someone else. It was a lesson learned. The kids and I enjoyed having Jim around for a couple weeks before he headed up MN by himself to start his new job. I stayed back with the kids to finish out the school year. We were apart for 3 1/2 weeks before Jim returned and helped us make the move north. I was thankful to have him back with us. I was also thankful that God answered many prayers and kept us all safe and healthy during that time. I don't know if I could have handled a sickness on top of everything! For the trip up, we took two vehicles (truck and van) and it ended up taking us about 13 1/2 hours....yuck. Lots of stops along the way. All in all, we made it safely and that is the most important thing. The weather was great for the drive as well. Now we are in the new place and are learning the ropes of a new city. So far so good. Lots of fun things for us to do! Jim is continuing to try his best to persevere through a rough time at the new job with a new computer system that doesn't work. Hopefully soon the problem can be fixed so he can get back to really enjoying doing what he does best rather than trying to be a computer tech. I will continue to try and keep you updated on things.
