Greetings! The Mitchells have been a busy bunch the past couple of weeks. A couple weeks ago we had fun watching a boy named Isaac, son of some friends of ours, for a few days. Our friends watched Kallie a year and a half ago when we went on our cruise, so it was nice to be able to pay them back. Kallie enjoyed having someone to play with. She learned though that he couldn't quite play like she can, as he is only 20 months old! Liam had his 4 month check up on the 13th. Hard to believe we've hit that point. He's definitely kept us on our toes. We've started adding a little cereal to his soy in continued attempts to reduce spit up. It seems to help a little bit. I'm looking forward to him outgrowing this stage. His pediatrician also ordered a skull xray on him. I have been concerned about the flat spot he has formed on the back of his head. She wanted an xray to make sure it was just the way he was sleeping and not the way his skull had fused. Thankfully it is just the way he sleeps. I am going to try and start doing some exercises with him in attempts to help it. He also has started rolling onto his side when he sleeps so that should help. Other than those things, he has started to develop a really fun personality. He's got such a great big smile and has really started doing lots of giggling! So cute! It sure makes my day!

In addition to those activities, we just spent last week up at Wisonsin Dells. I've never been there before so it was pretty fun. We stayed at Christmas Mountain Village, a resort associated with our vacation club. We loved our accomodations and also our company as my parents and younger brother and his family and also one of my sister's daughters joined us for the week. I must say that our drive up there could have been a little better. The trip was supposed to take us about 6 1/2 to 7 hours, but instead it took us 9 1/2. This was due to part of an interstate being closed down because of flooding. Not exactly what I would prefer with a 3 1/2 year old and a 4 month old stuck in a van. Plus, the highway they detoured us on went down to 1 lane because it was also under construction. I think the most frustrating part though was that we were like 15-20 miles from the Dells when the major delay happened. I felt like jumping out of the van with the kids and just walking there! In the long run it was worth it though because we did lots of fun things and saw some beautiful scenery. We did a duck boat ride, went to a deer park, went to Timbavati Wildlife Center, visited Lost Canyon on a horse-drawn carriage, went horseback riding, braved Noah's Ark waterpark, and played and fished around at the resort. It's amazing how quickly a week goes when you get to do so much fun stuff! On our way home we stopped for a night in Milwaukee to quick see Grandma Mitchell and let her meet Liam for the first time. She unfortunately had injured her back right around the time Liam was born. We also saw Great Grandpa and Great Grandma while we were there. Now we're back to reality and back to trying to put away all the vacation things(my least favorite part). Enjoy the pics of our recent adventures!

Kallie

Kallie wanted in on the video posting too!

Trying it out!

Wanted to see if I could get a video on here. I took it with my digital camera instead of video camera. Sorry if quality is poor!

Update

Greetings! I just wanted to quick post a few updated pics. We are doing okay for the most part. We have been passing around a cold in our family. Unfortunately, Liam's has turned into an ear infection. At first I thought he was just playing with his ear, but then a little more crankiness set in and I decided to go with my instinct and take him to the doctor. I have to say that I was hoping I was wrong!! Please pray for healing for him! The doctor was also a little concerned about him not gaining weight like she would like him to. We are once again playing around with his formula and are trying a hypoallergenic one called Nutramigen. It almost seems worse for him than the soy we just had him on!! It has become quite the ordeal trying to find something for him! Pray for that also! If anyone has advice, please let me know! He was 13 lbs, 10 oz. He has slowed down quite a lot from how he started. Kallie has been staying busy playing Barbies and Polly Pockets. We also try to get in a couple games of Go Fish or Hi Ho Cherry-O during the day! We have added another addition to the home with a van! I never thought I would be a van driver, but man it makes life so much easier! We purchased a Toyota Sienna and are satisfied with it so far. I hope you are all doing well. Enjoy the pics!
