Yay...oh wait....

Do you like the title??!! We are thankful to report that Jim's bloodwork came back ok, as well as his MRI and spine scan. We appreciate all the prayers and support so many of you have sent our way. We definitely know that God is watching over us. The only issue that we have now is trying to figure out what must be causing these problems he's having. So that's the "oh wait" part. We are excited that everything came back okay, but are still very perplexed! He will have a follow up visit in a few weeks with the neurologist so I guess we'll see what the next step may be. Again, we'll keep you posted. I just wanted to make sure I at least updated you all at this point in time.

Lots of activity!

Greetings! Pics are of the Indianapolis Air Show, the Indiana State Fair, and Liam's 6 month photo shoot. That about sums up what we've been busy with! Everything turned out fine with the heart echo they did on Liam. It will just be monitored at his appointments now. Thanks for all your thought and prayers with that. As far as Jim goes, he will be calling tomorrow(Friday) to find out the results of his MRI and bloodwork. I will try and post when I know something. Sorry this is short, but duty calls! I just wanted to be sure to get some update pics on here!

Update

Craziness, craziness....that's about how I'd describe the Mitchell household right now! I have officially started back to teaching after being off for 6 months. Was it really that long??!! So far so good on that front. I love the beginning of the year when the students are so well behaved! It may be wishful thinking, but I sure hope it stays this way!
On the health front, there is quite a bit going on. Jim saw the neurologist yesterday and thankfully the dr. didn't jump right to MS as being the culprit. He has ordered a pretty extensive blood workup and Jim also will be going on for a MRI of the brain as well as a scan of the spine. We are praying that those will come back okay. The dr. mentioned possibly a thyroid issue as well as some sort of mucle issue. We'll see! On top of that Jim also went to have a heart stress test done on Friday. Don't panic, just a yearly appointment. Due to Jim's family history they are wanting to monitor him. He got the results today and everything checked out okay. Yipee!
On the health front, part 2.....Mr. Liam likes to definitely be the center of attention in our house. I went to take him to his 6 month well visit last Thursday and they detected a heart murmur! Sooooo, tomorrow morning, Wed., we have to take him to Riley's Children's Hospital here in Indianapolis for a heart ecko. Not too excited about this. I of course thought the worst right from the bat and had a very teary car ride home after the appointment. Now I am in the mode of just hoping for the best and praying that all will come out okay. It's amazing how many poeple I have encountered since the appt. that say they have a heart murmur as well! We will keep you posted as to how that all comes out. I'm hoping that Kallie and I can stay well!

Better run. Thanks to all for your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate it.

Having fun!

He sure gets a kick out of his sister! When she's nice to him at least anyway! I hope it lasts for a long time!

On my toes

Liam and his hives!!!
Sorry for the poor quality photos!!

County fair time!

My little munchkies sure know how to keep me on my toes! It has been some busy times around here. We've battled some sicknesses in the Mitchell house lately. It started off with Liam running a low-grade fever which in turn caused me to take him to the dr. He ended up having an ear infection but also has been having some stomach issues. We no sooner got home from the dr. for Liam when Kallie found herself in the bathroom as well for tummy problems! She also was running a fever. That little bug lasted for a few days and thankfully didn't get too severe. Moving on to the next challenge, last Thursday I noticed a few spots on Liams inner thigh. My first thought was chicken pox but I just didn't worry about it too much because it's also been warm around here and thought maybe it was heat rash as well. I was wrong. By that following morning Liam had hives all down his legs and it was starting to show up on his arms. Yikes! Needless to say I returned once again to the dr. with him(I thinking maybe we should just reserve a room there) and the dr.'s theory was that he was allergic to the antibiotic he was on! In other words, they think Liam has a penicillin allergy! I am going to pursue this a little more next week when I take him back for his 6 month checkup and see if we can do some testing and see if that really was the culprit. Thankfully today Liam finally is starting to look "normal" again. I was afraid to take him out in public in for fear that other would think he has some contagious disease. I couldn't believe how badly he got them! He had then all over his scalp, face, ears, arms, hands, legs, feet, back, and just a few on his tummy. I had to give him Benedryl for a few days to help.

On top of that, Jim has been out of town visiting his grandma and also attending a work meeting in Eau Claire, WI. He missed the whole hives episode! I made sure to send him some cell phone pics so he could see!

So, that's been the excitement in our house. I've also been in the process of trying to prepare myself for returning back to work. I start again Monday, the 11th, and have been trying to take the kids with me to my classroom a few times so I can at least try and attempt some preparation. We seem to only last about 30 min. And for the teachers who read this, 30 minutes doesn't get you far when you're setting up the room does it?! Thankfully, we have a couple days to work on our rooms before the students start on Wed. Where did the 6 months of being home go??????? I am going to be praying for my sanity of trying to be on a schedule in the mornings too once I start back!! I'm throwing an extra body in the loop now to try and get ready!
I hope y'all are well!!
